Welcome to this week’s edition of Star Wars Thursday, a celebration of all things fun, wild, and wacky in the Star Wars universe!
It’s my anniversary, and I’m gearing up for the trip of a lifetime. I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland, and we are finally nearing our departure date. There have even been recent rumors that Star Wars VII may film at least partly in Ireland! Nothing is confirmed, though. I’d be long gone from the country by that point, anyway. Ah well, there are still other ways I can add a Star Wars spin to my vacation.
I plan to bring at least one Star Wars Lego minifig along on the trip, though I haven’t yet decided which one. I sent Chewie on the Appalachian Trail with my sister-in-law, so it is probably not his turn. Hopefully I’ll get some fun photos to share later in June! For today, though, I’m bringing the Irish charm that’s getting me psyched for my adventure.
Many people come back from Ireland with fine china. I don’t plan to bring any back myself, but I might be convinced if I found tea cups like these! Check it out at geekdetails’s Etsy shop.
Another thing I can’t wait to do is head out to the pubs. I’m not a big Guinness fan, but I’m excited about hearing live music. Wouldn’t it be exciting if a Star Wars song or two was slipped into one of the sets?

Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, and I’m hoping the same holds true for tourists visiting Ireland in person. I may have only a few drops of Irish blood, but I have a big Irish heart. Does Yoda count as Irish because he’s green? Kohse from Deviantart doesn’t seem to think so.
Whether or not you have any of your own drops of Irish blood, I offer you this simple blessing.
“These things I warmly wish for you-
a scoundrel to love,
Some flying to do,
A bit o’ Sith
A bit o’ cheer
And a guardian Jedi
always near.”
