‘Captain America’ Sequel Gets Filming Start Date Well, not so much as a specific date as that all gets nailed down in the couple of weeks beforehand, but news has come down via Collider that according to the film’s lead, Chris Evans, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will begin filming in March of 2013. The feature is the third in line to be worked on post Avengers as Iron Man 3 is finishing up its work while filming has been going on for Thor: The Dark World, as we’ve posted pictures recently. The second feature is due out on April 4th, 2014 and this pretty much mirrors the same timeframe the original had from production start to release date of about thirteen months.

Details about the film are still largely in the air, at least when it comes to casting. Chris Evans is returning and it’s expected that at the least we’ll see Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role here for a bit if not other SHIELD agents. Anthony Mackie was brought in to take on the role of the Falcon. The big mystery in casting at the moment is the female lead as Anna Kendrick, Felicity Jones and Imogen Poots are considering frontrunners for it, though it’s not been clear who they would be playing at this point. And because of the film’s title, Sebastian Stan is expected to return as Bucky Barnes.
