The potential for a threat to her interest in her man is big when it comes to Chitose, but she’s handled her teacher well enough. What throws some real confusion into the mix is the arrival of his niece Mika, who looks close to the same age as Chitose. And naturally, said teacher does her best to befriend Mika, not realizing that Mika herself is after her uncle as well. There’s a conniving nature to her that mirrors Chitose pretty well, but it becomes clear very, very quickly that Chitose has the upper hand having dealt with her competition for quite some time. And she’s just plainly in a different class when it comes to wacky physical activity.
In Summary:
Adding new characters to the cast isn’t a surprise, but it is surprising that it’s really taken this long. Mika certainly has the potential to bring something a little different to the show, but I love that she’s both just mean and vicious in her head and unable to withstand the basic reality of Chitose when the two of them meet. It doesn’t seem like Chitose is going out of her way to make a point, but she is, and she does it by just being normal with a slight little twist. The dynamic is likely to stay the same overall but there could be some good little tweaks coming into play depending on how they use Mika.
