After two seasons of adventures, the game is over for Christopher Chance and Human Target. The series is one that was a favorite of a few execs within Fox, which is why it got a second season pickup and became a season that many fans felt really hit its stride with pretty quickly, but it’s been an on the bubble show for awhile and it didn’t make it to a third season as Fox works through its next season plans for the network. The series starred Mark Valley, Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley but never managed to really improve its ratings, and as seasons go on, shows tend to get more expensive to produce for a variety of reasons. Human Target was loosely based on the DC Comics series of the same name and the show added a sense of fun about its adventures on a weekly basis. At this point, Fox has only renewed one genre series for the next season, not that it had a lot in general, with Fringe. The initial word out of the network is that half of its primetime drama slate is not being renewed.
