Muco鈥檚 adventures are things that I look forward to every week now and I already find myself fearful of the show ending. Such is what happens with shows base on animals that can capture your attention if not your heart. The charm of Muco is most plainly made by her voice actress of course, but what we get from the animation just takes that energy from her voice and gives it even more spunk. Though this style of animation isn鈥檛 my favorite by any stretch, and I totally get why people would pass over the show because of it, it鈥檚 something that works really well for what they鈥檙e trying to do here and the result is something that stands out on its own in a good way, particularly with Muco herself.
This episode places us squarely in summer and we get to see what Muco does to try and stay cool since she鈥檚 going to melt otherwise. It鈥檚 not easy being a dog covered in fur in this kind of weather, and especially living at a kiln that generates its own heat on top of that. What helps distract her is the food that Komatsu is giving her, though she鈥檚 not eager to try it because it鈥檚 not the norm as it鈥檚 a big dish of wet food. It鈥檚 hilarious seeing her go through the process of being wary, grudgingly eating it to please Komatsu, and then having an intense experience with how great it tastes. Of course, that puts Komatsu in a pinch since that stuff鈥檚 not cheap or to be had regularly, but it鈥檚 a wonderful sequence to see how both of them deal with 鈥?and the nature of Muco herself with what might be considered short-term memory.
The show does take us out into town once again, which always has its own fun, and Muco comes across Rena and her dad again and there鈥檚 cuteness to be had in how they deal with each other. Muco鈥檚 little subplot about bad tasting treats is mixed into this as well, which has its own cuteness as Komatsu opts for a rubber today. Her reaction to it, and eventually having it in her mouth, are priceless. But the show wants to get back to the heat in its final story with Muco helping out in the kiln room and being fascinated by the fan and how cool it makes her. Of course, Komatsu is just sweating horribly from the heat levels and has a short fuse, so seeing how Muco has to give him space while wanting to help him out is nicely done. Especially since it provides the most adorable flashback as Muco 鈥渉as a memory鈥?moment that just might help.
In Summary:
Lovely Muco has another very fun and engaging episode here across the board as it runs through several different stories. It does bring us a lot of good material for both Komatsu and Muco and I鈥檓 absolutely loving the interplay between the two of them and the general silliness they can have at times. It鈥檚 simple, it鈥檚 not deep, but man do they just click right and come across in a really heartwarming way. This show has captured my heart quicker than I thought it possible.
