With a helpful nod from an anonymous user on one of our ask.fm questions, sentai Filmworks last night confirmed that they are intending to dub Akame ga KILL. The company picked up the series back when it premiered its two season run and has also been streaming the series via The Anime Network and Hulu. The series ran in the summer and fall of 2014 and we’d expect the earliest we might see the first half would be towards the end of 2015 due to Japanese home video releases. Hanabee has picked up the Australian rights while Animatsu has the UK rights and those companies are potentially working together to release it on Blu-ray in their respective regions.

The series adapted the manga of the same name by Tetsuya Takahiro that began in 2010 and has over nine volumes to its name so far. The anime has Tomoki Kobayashi directing working off of scripts by Makoto Ueze while Kazuhisa Nakamura handled the character designs. The show was animated by White Fox. Sora Amamiya performed the opening theme while Miku Sawai performed the ending theme song.

Sora Amamiya plays the lead, Yuu Asakawa as Leone and stars with Soma Saito as Tatsumi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Braht, Yukari Tamura as Mein, Risa Mizuno as Najenda, Mamiko Noto as Schere, Satomi Akesaka as Esdese and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rabac.

Plot concept: Tatsumi is a fighter who just got robbed by a pretty girl, but his luck seems to be looking up, as another pretty girl has taken him in. What he doesn’t know is that this girl is about to be visited by a family of assassins (including the girl who robbed him) and they might be the good guys, and be recruiting…
