Vertical’s looking to strike while the irons are still hot when it comes to the Attack on Titan property as they’ve now scheduled a September 16th, 2014 release for Attack on Titan: Before the Fall novel. The book is part of the ongoing novel series in Japan from Ryo Suzukaze and Thores Shibamoto that is up to three volumes since beginning in 2011. The book is set to be priced at $10.95 from Vertical and is listed as 200 pages long.

Plot concept: Humanity has learned to live in complacency behind its high walls, protected from the giant Titans. But when a Titan-worshipping cult opens one of the gates, a Titan wreaks havoc, consuming the cultists. After the rampage is over, two young Survey Corps members are shocked to discover a pregnant woman’s partially digested corpse – with her baby still alive inside it! What will the fate of this “child of the Titans” be? And how will humanity learn to cope with the Titan threat?
