The slow release for Code Geass: Akito the Exiled continues on as we get closer to the end of the four part OVA and Bandai Visual is doing some extra promotion ahead of the release of the third part. This comes in the form of a six minute narrated promotional spot that brings viewers up to speed on what’s come before while promoting the third episode’s upcoming debut. With the length of time between episodes, a little bit of recap isn’t exactly a bad thing for fans of the series. Set for release on May 2nd, 2015 in theaters with a home video release to follow, the first TV spot/theatrical announcement has arrived for the episode. The episode was originally going to get a March 2015 premiere, but was pushed back after the second episode got pushed back significantly previously.
The show has been picked up for release in North America by FUNimation and has been licensed in Australia by Madman. The original series was licensed in North America by Bandai Entertainment but has fallen out of print since the closure of the company. FUNimation picked up the rights to both properties back in the summer of 2013.
Plot concept: The story takes place in Europe in the year a.t.b. 2017. A Knightmare unit made of boys and girls from Area Eleven are thrown into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival. They must rescue an allied unit left behind on the European war front.
