The series will be about 12 “pillow boys” (makura no danshi) with a diverse range of personalities. They all reside in a town and each individual pillow boy will star in his own episode on a weekly basis. It’s also revealed that the series will take on a first-person perspective to detail their story in a smooth and elegant way.

While the series is named Pillow Boys, this episode gives us two for the price of one as Yayoi and Yonaga are the primary characters her as twins that deal in flower arrangement. Interestingly, they have two different voice actors for it. What we get here is certainly amusing to watch as they lay about in a very elegant room while wearing traditional garb, talking to each other more than to the viewer, but giving us plenty of proper attention a we apparently look needy and pervy. There’s some fun in the fact that the twins are like they are and have their own sync and vibe about them and we get a look at them in other outfits as well that almost plays up the butler side a bit just to give them a little more elegance. The episode as a whole makes it feel like you’re missing out on the joke between the two of them, but you’re thinking of all the things they could be doing to you.
In Summary:
This episode has almost a bit of a horror factor to it at the start but it goes more traditional once it gets going. There’s a fun kind of weirdness coming from the twins that works well and I rather liked the playful and mischievous feeling they give off. Amusingly, the two actors here that take on the roles, Shonnosuke Tachibana and Daisuke Kishio, both play in Kamisama Kiss, which makes it a little surreal in some ways for what we get here. But hell, this whole series has been surreal.
