ComiXology does some pretty good promotions throughout the year that entice people to try out the service, either device based or web based, by offering specials, deals and free books. With the holiday season here, they’re now bringing back their 12 Days of Christmas promotion, which means a new free book every day.

To kick off the promotion, they’ve offered up the first issue of The Wake, a Vertigo Comics series from Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy. The book was originally released in May 2013 and the series ran for ten issues overall, making it easy to decide if you want to give the whole thing a run after that in either singles or trades as there’s both a full trade and half-series trades.
