The official One Piece site updated this week with a really good piece of animation for fans of the property as the casting of the character of Sabo has been revealed. Sabo is an interesting character in the series with relations to Luffy that will be appearing in episode 663 with the September 28th, 2014 installment. According to the information on the official site, the casting of Toru Furuya in the role was done in secret and was the one chosen by series creator Eiichiro Oda.

Furuya has a lengthy career in acting as he’s 61 this year and has been involved in voice acting since he took on the role o Kid in The Pirate Prince back in 1966 when he was only thirteen. He’s had numerous key roles over the years from Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam to Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya, which between the two of those roles established him in a huge way for a generation of fans. But he has a lot of other roles that people know him for such as my personal favorite of Kyosuke in Kimagure Orange Road and Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon.
