The premiere of the third season of The Walking Dead last night ended up shattering the previous record for basic cable programming, which was held by season two of the show. The third season premiere hit 10.9 million viewers in its first episode and a whopping 15.2 million viewers between the first and repeat broadcasts of it later that evening after shows like Talking Dead and Comic Book Men.
And this is without DISH Network, which had dropped AMC over a dispute regarding VOOM back in June.
Here’s the stats for the night:
- Adults 18-49 and 25-54 - 7.3 million
- Adults 25-54 – 6.1 million
- Season 2 Finale drew 9 million viewers back in March- 6 million Adults 18-49 and 5.3 million Adults 25-54
