Danchigai Episode #04 Anime Review Family fun at the supermarket!

What They Say:
Danchigai focuses on the life of Haruki Nakano and his four sisters, all of whom live together in the same apartment complex. The only boy of five siblings, Haruki lives with his older sister Mutsuki, difficult younger sister Yayoi, and mischievous twins Uzuki and Satsuki.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
After a fun fanservice oriented focus on Mutsuki before, this time around Danchigai goes for a family outing to the place most kids hate to go. The supermarket. For these siblings here though, the younger ones get to enjoy the samples and participation in general while everyone else does the heavy work. Of course, everyone has their own way of shopping and there’s some good silliness there that as a parent I can totally laugh with. The fun of the twins sampling everything in the store is definitely fun and Mutsuki’s participation ends up driving up a lot of sales, a comical effect across the board. The show dips into the food side of things as well with spices and the like, but the fun is totally in the shopping experience.

In Summary:
With a good focus on the individuals previously while also touching on the family side, this one places them all together for the most part and runs with the fun of a family of five going food shopping. While it’s easy to make it a horrifying experience, the reality is for most that it’s just pretty straightforward. And we get that here with some really cute moments, some silliness and a little sibling smackdown about what needs to be done in what order. All in all it’s another very cute episode that’s over far too quickly, making me wish it was double the run time so it could really enjoy itself just a bit more.
