With Fox looking to focus on Alien: Paradise Lost as the always working and moving Ridley Scott is looking to go into full on production in February with filming, an interesting little turn has arrived regarding it. Through a couple of outlets, it has Scott – who does do the screenplays himself – admitting that things got away from him on Prometheus and he’s looking to correct that. And from what we can see here with his bringing in John Logan, that’s definitely a good thing. Logan has done some strong work in the last few years along, though Scott likes him for his turn on Gladiator all those years ago, but with Skyfall and Spectre under his belt and the excellent Penny Dreadful series that he fully writes himself, there’s a lot to like in seeing him come on board.
As for Scott, he talked a bit about what else is coming before it all connects with the original Alien movie.
“There will be another after [Paradise Lost],” he insisted, “And then maybe we’ll back into Alien 1, as to why? Who would make such a dreadful thing?”
“I’m trying to keep this for myself. I let the other one get away from me – I shouldn’t have… I’m trying to re-resurrect the beast and let if off the hook for a while because I’m coming back into the back-end of Alien 1. I’m gradually getting to Alien 1.”
