As we count down the last couple of weeks until Avengers: Age of Ultron, is anyone surprised that Avengers based books are what’s dominating being added to the digital backlist?

No? Good.

Today will see Marvel bringing on board several books to its digital slate on ComiXology that are from within that group and it certainly makes a whole lot of sense. They’ve given us two Iron Man books that tie into the movies as well as the three issue compilation for the Black Widow Strikes series that served as a prelude to the first Avengers movie. And we’ve also got the compilation of the four issue series Marvel’s The Avengers Prelude: Fury’s Big Week that was tied to it as well. The only one that isn’t connected to it all is the 2010 trade for Siege: Avengers – The Initiative.

DC Comics keeps it simple this Thursday with just a digital first release with Wonder Woman ’77 while Ankama has a little international love for fans.
