Though the focus at the moment is mostly on the spring 2013 anime season, there are nods to the summer season as well. And anytime Brain’s Base is involved in a new production, they have our attention. The latest is the anime adaptation of the Blood Lad series, whose manga is being translated in North America by Yen Press. The new series has had a lot of information revealed recently with the complete staff on board, a new key visual which you can see below as well as a number of character concept pieces as well. If you haven’t read the manga, check out the video clip below as well which Kadokawa put out last year to highlight the manga series.

Plot Concept: Staz is the vampire boss of a section of the demon world, but he has little interest in human blood. He’s more infatuated with Japanese culture. When he learns that Yanagi Fuyumi, a Japanese teenage girl, accidentally wanders into the demon city, he jumps to the occasion. However, while Staz deals with an intruder on his turf, the oblivious Fuyumi is killed by a monster and becomes a wandering ghost. The disappointed Staz vows to her that he will find a way to bring Fuyumi back to life.
