Welcome back to Star Wars Thursday, a celebration of the wonderful and often wacky world of a galaxy far, far away.
“A long time ago, in a cookies and milk galaxy far, far away…”
Less than a week ago, Sesame Street unveiled an amazing Star Wars parody. Cookie Monster is “Flan Solo”, and he must learn some self control to avoid devouring his devoted companion “Chewie the Cookie”. Oh, it is exactly as fun as it sounds! Do yourself a favor and take the time to watch this one… or watch it again! Can Solo learn to “use the four” to help him gain impulse control?

Cookie Monster usually appears as Chewie on most of the shirts and spoofs I’ve seen. This shirt from Redbubble is an adorable way to show your love for sweets, Star Wars, and the educational show we all know and love.
Star S’Mores isn’t the only recent connection between Sesame and Star Wars, though. On Tuesday this beauty appeared. The world learned of the addition of Lupita Nyong’o to the Episode VII cast in early June , and I know I was pretty excited by the news ! Since we don’t know anything yet about Nyong’o’s role in the new movie, this Sesame Street appearance can’t directly tie into all things Fandom. Still, it is awfully adorable and shares an important message about loving the skin you are in.

This is hardly the first (and hopefully far from the last) connection between the two franchises! Threepio and Artoo had many guest spots, to the delight of my little self. The Sesame Workshop Blog devoted a huge post back in 2013 to sharing the history of the Star Wars invasion of the street we all love.
Here’s one little clip of the robotic duo helping Big Bird learn to count!

Now, I rarely finish a Star Wars Thursday post without sharing something from Etsy. This fun shirt is from DosJokers . Poor R2-D2 has seen better days once Oscar moves into his shell!
Until next week – may the Force be with you!
