Yumeno’s art style is quite enjoyable as male characters and general backgrounds receive a lot more detail then may hentai titles give. Even some of my favorite hentai mangaka turn the males into ghost-faced characters, so it was nice to see the two main male characters in this book get the same attention to facial details as the women. The women are easy to tell apart both in their body types and faces; while being teenagers that are idols, so they are plenty attractive. Some of the sex scenes have a nice frenetic feel to them with blurred breasts and speed lines to give the panel a feeling of energy.

There is light censorship in the form of thin, dark gray lines on certain parts, but certainly not as heavy as it can be. This book also has six beautiful glossy color pages at the beginning. The translation reads well, with few grammar errors. Through much of the book, the English SFX translations are smaller and alongside the original Japanese SFX. This is the style that I have come to expect from Project-H, and I personally prefer this method as the original Japanese SFX are an art style unto themselves. Great to see the Japanese SFX unmolested.

Triple Mix! focuses on two story arcs about idols, and the cool part is that one story references the other idol group. The book starts with a clever young guy that figures out two of his classmates make up a new, yet unpopular idol band. He confronts them about it and then claims that he is the producer for another mega-popular idol band called Soleil and he can help them make it big if they’d like. In classic porn fashion, he starts them on some training that has them pretending his penis is a microphone. It is hilarious, and I have to give the guy credit for going through with it. Then claiming his sperm can help their singing voice is even funnier. But the funny part is, the embarrassment of having sex with him actually makes it easier for the girls to feel less nervous when they get onstage.

But this two-girl group isn’t going to be enough to hit it big. Nope, Mr. Producer also recruits the class president to make it a three-girl group. Which leads to some hot sex, er, I mean “training” sessions. Inevitably, these training sessions end up sometimes happening with just one girl, which breeds jealousy among the girls. Can their friendship and the band survive the in-fighting and jealousy?

While most of this book follows the sexual adventures of the first idol group, and their trials of becoming famous, the last third of the book shows the reader how the super idol group, Soleil have fun and blow off steam and sexual frustration. After their latest concert, one of the idols in Soleil says she fell in love at first sight with one of the fans up front. That fan just happens to make his way back to their dressing room to ask for an autograph. The girls are all too happy to bring him and use him for entertainment. This guy seriously has the day of his life when all three idols line up and let him screw each of them until he’s had his fill. But, he also turns out to be so good at it that they immediately make him their new manager! Can he live up to the pressure to perform, and keep it all a secret so Soleil doesn’t lose any fans that would become angered to know their idols had been sullied?

In Summary
Triple Mix! is a seriously fun title with plenty of humor and great sex scenes. It isn’t often that a hentai book makes me laugh out loud. At first, I thought the guy playing producer was just taking advantage of some naïve girls, but we eventually learn that he wasn’t as sly as he thought. The other aspect that is so entertaining is the numerous foursomes intermixed with some one-on-one scenes. Generally, M/F/F/F scenes are less common than the M/F and one girl many guys types of scenes, so Triple Mix! is a little unique in that manner. Great title and I look forward to rereading it.
