Similar to the Ruin short that Fox grabbed earlier this year, there’s always interest in some of the shorts that get created and appear out in the wild. The latest comes from Stephen Zlotescu, an FX man who has done some of the bigger videos of recent years for Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Nikki Minaj. The short, which runs just over six minutes, provides a look at the kind of full length feature he wants to make in the vein of Chronicle, small in budget but big in ideas. The short was done in Bangkok and definitely shows a lot of promise.

Plot Concept: The story’s hero can’t afford to augment in the U.S. so heads to the black market of Bangkok where he gets a hold of a mysterious chip that he discovers is not only slowly turning him robotic but is also a hot commodity wanted by shadowy forces. Jumping off the short, the hero faces a race against time to elude his pursuers and save what’s left of his humanity.
