The Review:
Content:
Bless Cthulu this episode has a plot! The episode starts with someone stalking Pervert Nurse. She screams and a few frames later she is talking to Ryou and Asuna about it. After an underwhelming chase scene they catch the stalker and discover he is a shota. As a running gag, the shota and Pervert Nurse keep proposing to each other throughout the remainder of the episode. The shota reveals that he has deeply seated stalking issues.
After Ryou’s usual bout of exposition, he comes to the conclusion that the best solution is to call the police. Pervert Nurse, however, has different plans as she has fallen head over heals for the shota. As the show does not want an ongoing narrative, Asuna’s grandfather conveniently appears and reveals the shota is in fact an old man who has had extensive plastic surgery. Pervert Nurse responds to this by calling the police who take away both the pretend shota and Asuna’s grandfather.
In Summary:
Unlike last week’s episode which had the show set on autopilot, this episode actually features a plot. It’s worth noting that this is a plot the show has recycled already multiple times. A person with serious issues causes them pain and after some hemming-and-hawing they decide to call the police. That being said it was nice the show had some actual tension, however briefly. I would say that while the immediately previous episode could easily be skipped this one is certainly worth trying.
