Mangirl Episode 3

The first photo shoot for the magazine is here and Hana is on hand to tweak it in the way only she can.

What They Say:
Hana is doing her best to make the magazine first gravure shoot the best, but it’s not going well.

With some of the silliness so far, we know that while there may be some awkward moments, Hana is intent on making the magazine a success, even if she does seem distracted often and treating it all like an after school project, complete with work sleepovers. With the magazine set to do their gravure shoot, everyone is all gung-ho on putting in the work required for it. They’ve got a cute model in Sakuradai for the shoot and she along with all the others are pretty professional, which Hana sometimes isn’t. She’s just completely unsure of how photo shoots are done and just causes more problems, to the point where others should kick her out of there pretty quickly in order to make it a success.

In Summary:
While Hana is a bit of a problem throughout the shoot, there is some cuteness to it as she messes up the shoot in small but not truly damaging ways. It’s more of an education for the viewer in how a gravure shoot goes and I had to laugh at the photo editing sequence towards the end, though I wish it went a bit differently. While eliminating stray hairs isn’t a bad thing, and you can wince a bit at the whole lightening of skin color, I really disliked the way it was so easily talked about that they could make her thinner and so forth. With so much going on regularly in the model/magazine world when it comes to looks and how models are being edited, it’s not something that I can really find all that amusing.
